SALARY: L 5-9

CLOSING DATE: Monday 22nd April 2024

CONTRACT: Permanent

START DATE: 1st September 2024

Our setting is pretty unique…and you will need to be too!

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated leader who can drive developments across our Upper Phase (Years 8, 9, 10, 11) and ensure the day-to-day operational running of the phase is smooth, supporting students’ emotional regulation and minimising barriers to learning. We need a skilled and committed leader who is able to shape and influence their phase in a way that brings team members with them, whilst appreciating, and working with, the diversity that a SEND team brings. You’ll work closely with the other Phase Leads to ensure transitions are smooth and the overall curriculum offer meets the needs of our SEND learners, most of whom are Autistic. You’re also likely to bring experience of working with the secondary age range in terms of developing qualifications, accreditations and a curriculum that is engaging and challenging for young people with SEND, as well as developing work experience opportunities.

All our Phase Leads at the academy, also lead on a curriculum area, from Reception to Year 13. Leading on a curriculum area means there are exciting opportunities to work across the phases with other colleagues and year groups. The curriculum area is open to negotiation and it’s a great way to demonstrate your impact across a whole setting in readiness for what is likely to be your next step to leadership at a senior level.

ABOUT YOU:

You are likely to have had experience in both mainstream and special settings
You will have knowledge and experience of Autistic learners
You are someone who enthuses and motivates colleagues to be their best selves
You have high professional standards
You forge positive relationships with students, staff and families
You are able to plan and deliver innovative and inspirational lessons to SEND learners
You are ready for a middle leadership role and have aspirations to go even further
You are excited about the prospect of accessing professional development opportunities that will help you grow and develop in your role, as well as, sharing and disseminating good practice with colleagues.
Interested applicants are actively encouraged to visit the academy prior to submitting an application, if possible.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment. All posts will be subject to receipt of satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure, medical and reference checks. All pre-employment checks are in line with "Keeping Children Safe in Education”.

The Trust welcomes applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, age or sexual orientation.

All applicants must be able to provide evidence of their Right to Work in the UK prior to commencement of employment. As part of our need to comply with UK immigration rules, you will be required to provide Home Office stipulated documentation prior to interview.
