About the team

As a Risk and Intelligence Analyst you will be a member of the Risk and Markets team, part of the Strategy Directorate within Ofqual. We are a small, talented team that is passionate about delivering a high-quality business support service to our colleagues throughout the organisation.

Our dedicated team plays an important role in providing expert risk management advice and presenting data-driven insight that supports strategic and operational decision-making within Ofqual.

As an integral part of a diverse, inclusive and welcoming team, you will have the opportunity to own and develop the Analyst role as we continue to focus on delivering Ofqual’s Corporate Plan priorities and the achievement of our statutory objectives.

About the role

The Risk and Intelligence Analyst role is a crucial part of the Risk and Markets team at Ofqual, working alongside colleagues within the Economist function to provide high quality data, analysis and guidance that meet the needs of the organisation.

As a member of the Risk and Intelligence team your role will be rich and varied, with plenty of opportunities to develop new and innovative approached as we adapt to the complex, ever-changing regulatory environment in which Ofqual operates.

Our work includes maintaining and developing Ofqual’s qualifications market intelligence database, supporting the use of our corporate risk register, providing a wide range of policy advice and analytical products and supporting the annual business planning process.

This role requires the ability to analyse and interpret complex datasets and communicate risk management concepts to all levels of the organisation.

About you

You will have a good knowledge of risk management principles and techniques, which may have been gained through study or practical experience. You may be a generalist or a specialist. Whatever your background, you will be a keen advocate for the integration of risk management within an organisation’s governance and internal control framework.

You will have a collaborative approach to working with colleagues at all levels of the organisation, be able to work independently and be able to communicate risk management concepts in ways that can be understood by a wide range of stakeholders.

Your technical knowledge, insight, and ability to work constructively with people at all grades will make you a valued contributor to the decision-making process and a champion for good governance at Ofqual.
