Summary

About The Role
At OCS, our cleaners play an important part in providing safe, clean environments in which our customers can thrive in their workspaces. As a Domestic Cleaning Operative, you shall perform these duties in a professional, timely manner and with satisfactory customer expectations.

You will be working Monday to Friday, from 17:00 to 19:00, on a permanent part-time basis, which covers 10 hours per week.

You'll also:

  • Ensure that all cleaning tasks are carried out in accordance with NHS cleaning standards.
  • You will be carrying out a range of cleaning activities including mopping, sweeping, dusting, emptying bins, and cleaning washrooms, shower rooms, basins, clinical areas, therapy rooms, corridors, and bedrooms (where applicable).
  • Arranging for trust staff to clear cupboard floors allowing cleaning.
  • Removal and re-hanging of curtains to allow Trust staff to launder.
  • Cleaning of glass partitions, litter picking, and sweeper of external areas.
  • Spot cleaning upholstery, curtains, and carpets, and emptying, and cleaning waste bins.
  • To be responsible for all consumables, equipment, and machinery used.
  • Always ensure you are present at the station.
  • Ensure you have received the required training so that you can competently carry out your tasks and responsibilities.
  • To be responsible for reviewing the safe system of work before the commencement of the work activity.
  • Ensure the plants/equipment is well maintained and fit to carry out the day-to-day tasks.
  • You shall be required to work closely with the Group Health and Safety team who is available to provide safety, advice, and support.
  • To make sure that the safety initiatives are implemented within your remit of control.
  • To understand the unit's working pattern so that you are not confused with the daily working pattern.

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Good attention to detail
  • The ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Cleaning experience within a healthcare environment is desirable as full training will be provided.
  • To be reliable and responsible with a flexible approach to work
