Summary

Working hours will vary dependent upon the specific rotation due to 7 day working and long day working. This may involve working evenings and weekends on a rota basis. You will have supervision within the clinical rotation by the designated clinical lead which may involve an individual physiotherapist or collaboratively by a team of senior practitioners As a Band 6 physiotherapist you will take part in rotational objectives and will be supported via the senior team members as required You will take an active role within the physiotherapy respiratory on-call service. Some rotations will involve travel to community bases and to patients place of residence. Main duties include the ability to: Work autonomously as part of the related MDT, to practise safely within and adhere to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) Code of Members Professional Values and Behaviour and The Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC) standards of practice, The post holder will be required to comply with all relevant Trust policies and guidelines and undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner. Perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, to provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme. Hold responsibility for own caseload and be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type, working without direct supervision. Supervision takes the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, case conferences. Access to advice and support from a senior physiotherapist is available if required, clinical work is not routinely evaluated. Supervise, educate and assess the performance of junior physiotherapists, assistants andphysiotherapy students; this would be to a graduate standard and involve working with universities to ensure the standard of practice and teaching meets the standards set by the degree level qualification. Undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to further own and the teams clinical practice within each rotation. Make recommendations to clinical lead/manager of service for changes to practice by the team. May lead the implementation of specific changes to practice or contribute to service protocols.
