Summary

Job Summary Medical Administrator/Receptionist with a flexible approach to working environment. To provide an efficient service at the point of reception together with a full and comprehensive range of administration services to the Practice. 13 Key duties 1. To ensure smooth running of the practice telephone system, answering calls courteously and in an efficient manner. 2. Booking of appointments for patients with the Doctors, Practice Nurses and other professionals via the telephone and face to face 3. Ensure that patients are received politely and are dealt with efficiently, providing them with any information they may require. 4. Respect patients needs to relay information in a confidential manner and respond accordingly 5. Register new, amend where necessary and transfer patients manual and computerised records 6. File and retrieve patient records as requested. 7. Administration of patient referrals 8. Ensure that prescriptions are issued in conjunction with the practice policy on repeat and urgent prescriptions. 9. All patient queries logged and recorded, ensuring that the relevant member of staff is informed in a timely fashion. 10. Photocopying/scanning as and when required 11 Contacting patient by telephone or letter for reviews and appointments 12 Use software for scanning patient letters into their electronic medical files. 13 Any other administration duties required of the post
