Fulltime 37.5hrs per week, Occasional weekend working /unsociable hours

As our Lead Support Worker, you’ll be at the heart of supporting our customers who may have complex support needs and need to develop their skills to live more independently in the community. Work at our accommodation based service which is a recovery house called Unity house where the rest of the team is based. You’ll make a big difference each day as you help our customers achieve their hopes and aspirations. Amazing we know!
Typical day as a Lead Support Worker (known by us as Coordinator)
• Providing housing related support - Not personal care
• Creating support plans with your customers and managing your own caseload
• Customer group - Drugs and substance misuse and individuals at risk of homelessness
• Supporting customers with independent living skills such as shopping, budgeting, maintaining their tenancy and moving onto independent accommodation if they are able.
• Encouraging customers to attend mutual aid groups and engage with treatment services
• Carrying out risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews.
• Cuppas, chats and catch ups. There’s no rushing from one customer to the next here! Plenty of time to collaborate with colleagues too.
• You'll work in the community promoting the service with referral agencies and provide drop-ins to potential customers.

You bring
• Passion to support our customers to live their best life, working collaboratively with an eye for detail.
• Experience of creating person-centred support plans and risk management plans
• Experience of coordinating and assessing customer referrals.
• Experience in providing housing related support
• knowledge of homelessness & welfare benefits system
• The ability to work on your own initiative, remain calm under pressure and have a resilient approach
• To get from A to B, Ideally, you’ll have a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage!

Job details
• Flexible working hours (or we’re open to agreeing a work pattern with you)
• Where we’re flexible with you, we do need to meet the needs of our customers. That may mean adapting your start or finishing times on occasion.
• Although you’ll sometimes lone work, we do get together regularly for training and team meetings.
• Able to use technology for creating and updating support plans, complete online learning and to collaborate with colleagues.
• You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
