Summary


We are seeking a talented, enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join the Finance department at the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.

The Income & Charity Finance Assistant will be responsible for the accurate processing and recording of all cash and debtor income received by the Trust. Including the day to day financial functions of the Trust’s charitable funds (Bay Hospitals Charity). You will be joining a Finance department which is supportive of their staff and will provide appropriate training to the successful candidate.

The Finance Directorate is currently working a hybrid model, with staff expected to be in the office a minimum of two days per week. Our new office accommodation is close to the city centre of Lancaster and has good transport links for both the rail and road networks.

We are an award-winning Finance Department with Level 2 Finance Skills Development Network accreditation and we are working towards achieving Level 3 status.
• Responsible for the accurate processing and recording of all
cash and debtor income received by the Trust into the Trust’s
financial system.
• Responsible for the day to day financial functions of the
Trust’s charitable funds ensuring compliance with internal
procedures and Charity Commission regulations.
• There is regular contact with a variety of internal and external
customers, various departments and Financial Management.
Communications may be complicated due to the diversity of
the processes and policies that need to be followed.

We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
