Senior Dental Nurse – Band 5

Part or Full Time – 30-37.5 hours

Internal Appointment to cover Maternity leave ends 31 May 2025

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified dental nurse working within Berkshire CDS to become the Senior Dental Nurse – General Anaesthetic Lead for Wexham Park Hospital.

The Senior Dental Nurse will undertake CDS clinical nursing duties providing administrative support and booking patients for the list and providing leadership for the dental team at the GA sessions.

Two of the days will be based at Langley clinic. The remaining days TBA

The Senior Dental Nurse will be an experienced dental nurse with additional skills and experience in providing assistance for treatment of dental patients under general anaesthetic &/or sedation. They should have knowledge of the administration and management of the CDS general anaesthetic service at Wexham Park Hospital.

The ‘must haves’ for you to be considered for this role:
• You will be a registered dental nurse with sedation or GA experience.
• You will have knowledge of both clinical and management roles within the Berkshire Community Dental Service with relevant skills such as working with the elderly, children, and patients with special needs.
• Experience of managing a dental clinic with a focus on decontamination, health and safety, management of the clinic diary and ordering consumables.
• You will be able to work effectively as part of a team.
• You will be expected to work autonomously and must be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to influence and motivate others, and possess good planning and organisational skills.
• You will have good IT skills including Teams and Microsoft Office - Word and Excel.
