Summary
Focused Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Warehouse Controller to join our clients manufacturing site based within the Blackwood area.
Function of the role:
Reporting to the Shipping Office Supervisor and Logistics Operations Manager, this position provides for the fulfilment of all sales orders and for the coordination of the day to day site shipping operations associated with on-site warehouse.
Hours of work:
06:00 to 14:00 for 2 weeks
10:45 to 18:45 for 1 week
Essential functions and key skills detailed below:
- Must be able to drive a forklift and have valid counterbalance forklift certification.
- Manoeuvring abnormal sized cargo around the factory floor and yard.
- Packing and securing parts.
- Will need to ascertain packing requirements, such as containers or packing materials to be used depending on the type and size of parts to be shipped.
- Build crates and boxes for shipment, affix labels or stencil information on packed cartons or crates.
- Handle shipping and receiving paperwork.
- Load and unload trucks.
- Collection/ deliveries to and from off-site warehouse and external vendors.
- Using computer system to manage crate locations.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area, both internal and external.
- Flexible including out of hours support if/when applicable, perform other duties as assigned.
Key Skills
- Driving licence essential for up to 3.5 tons.
- Counterbalance fork lift license essential.
- H.G.V. would be advantageous but not essential.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a customer service operational environment, preferably within manufacturing or a warehousing/logistics environment.
- Vocational qualification in an appropriate field of expertise preferred.
- Computer literate with good numeracy skills.
- Clear understanding and appreciation of HSE risks in logistics operations and commitment / drive to attain the highest HSE standards
