Sanctuary Personnel is currently seeking a skilled Group Work Practitioner to join a dynamic team providing innovative substance misuse services in partnership with leading healthcare providers.

Objectives of Post:

As a Group Work Practitioner, you will be responsible for delivering evidence-based group interventions and one-to-one support to service users, while also nurturing the development of volunteers and mentors. Additionally, you will undertake line management responsibilities for Group Workers.

Main Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments to determine service users' suitability for group work interventions.
• Develop individualised activity programs based on assessment outcomes and care plans.
• Offer advice, support, and consultation to external agencies working with substance misuse service users.
• Deliver psychosocial and psychological interventions on a one-to-one basis.
• Facilitate structured group work sessions and promote access to mutual aid groups.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures, escalating concerns as necessary.
• Liaise with professionals and maintain collaborative relationships with community-based services.
• Support recruitment, training, and supervision of peer mentors, volunteers, and group workers.
• Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and reporting systems.
• Maintain accurate case notes and uphold confidentiality standards.

Employee Specification:

(Essential)

• Relevant Degree or Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care.
• Certification in Tackling Substance Misuse or equivalent.
• Experience in key working, psychological interventions, and group facilitation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously.
• Commitment to safeguarding principles and promoting service user well-being.

(Desirable)

• Supervisory experience and familiarity with multi-disciplinary team dynamics.
• Knowledge of therapeutic interventions and substance misuse treatment approaches.
