Temporary contractual position to work for a mobile crêperie, making and serving sweet and savoury French pancakes in festivals and private events with a team of 3 to 9 employees @ Hay Festival of Literature.

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND QUALITIES
but not absolutely necessary as training will be provided
- kitchen work experience
- making crepe
- ability to lift and move equipment
- camping experience

TASKS
___
Before the opening of the event (1 or 2 days)
- set up the stand / erect structure
- unload the van
- set up equipment
- attend the Health & Safety briefing
___
During the event
- opening and setting up for the day before opening time
- assist in the preparation of fillings and batters
- take customer orders in a friendly manner
- cook, garnish, serve crêpes and galettes (training provided)
- collect payments cash and cards
- prepare and serve tea, coffee, cold drinks
- ensure an attractive food presentation
- clean, wash, tidy up utensils and work surfaces as you go
- update daily log record
- cleaning and washing after the service and setting up for the next day

After the event (usually 1 day)
- clean / wash / clear up / put away equipment
- dismantle the stand
- pack the equipment orderly in correct boxes
- load the van in an orderly manner
- unload when returning to base
