Job Description
We are currently seeking experienced Bricklayers to join our team. As a Bricklayer, you will be responsible for erecting and repairing brick, pre-cut stone, and concrete block structures such as walls, paving, chimney stacks, and tunnel lining. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of construction principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine drawings, photographs, and specifications to determine job requirements.
- Measure construction sites and lay out the first lines of bricks to mark the position of walls.
- Mix and spread mortar on foundations and bricks.
- Place, level, and align bricks in mortar beds and walls.
- Use hand and power tools to shape and trim bricks.
Qualifications and Experience
- No formal academic entry requirements, though GCSEs/S grades are advantageous.
- Entry typically through an approved apprenticeship program or college course in conjunction with on-the-job training.
- NVQ/SVQ Level 2/3 qualification is desirable.
- Building up work experience supplemented with short courses is also accepted.
