Location: Bridge Of Don Academy, Aberdeen

Duration: Permanent, Term Time - 41 Weeks, 37 Hours per Week

Roles that require PVG Membership

Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,727 per annum / £15.97 per hour)

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.

job purpose/about the role

To manage the provision of a technical support service in schools to support
curriculum delivery and learning and teaching activities. School technical support
services can include reprographics, DTP, AV, Science, Art & Design, Home
Economics, Design & Technology, ICT, Photography, Film and Recording. To
attend relevant meetings and training sessions.

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

• HNC/SVQ/Higher Technicians Certificate or equivalent qualification AND
extensive job related experience.
• PVG membership for regulated work with children, adults and/or vulnerable
groups OR willingness to obtain prior to commencing work.

The postholder is able to demonstrate:

• Able to provide effective leadership and committed to effective employee
communication and engagement and sound leadership skills.
• Able to make the best use of resources, including employees, ICT and financial
resources, whilst striking a balance between cost, quality and price.
• Able to delegate decision making responsibility and demonstrate trust where
appropriate.
• Able to ensure that the purpose and outcomes of the job are achieved.
• Able to cope with pressure, prioritise work and meet deadlines.
• Manual dexterity.
• Ability to work on own initiative and take on responsibility in day to day tasks.
• Ability to manage time effectively
