Summary


General Surgery are looking for a Support Secretary to join their growing team. In this role you would work alongside the Medical Secretary team to cross cover, type dictations and deal with any daily administration. This position offers an exciting opportunity to advance your learning and skills.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional secretarial skills and proven experience audio typing with a medical background. The role will also involve assisting the team in booking outpatient clinic appointments so knowledge of appointments, clinics and waiting lists will also be beneficial.

The candidate should demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, be self-motivated, able to prioritise a busy workload, work to deadlines, have a flexible approach to duties and hold a relevant secretarial / audio / word-processing qualification ideally with previous NHS /medical experience however this is not essential.

A good range of secretarial skills, including knowledge of medical terminology and audio word-processing/typing is required. The ability to organise your day, prioritise your tasks and work as part of a team are also desirable.

You should be confident, self-motivated and be able to demonstrate good communication and organisational skills, along with a flexible approach to duties. You should also hold relevant secretarial / audio / word-processing qualification and ideally have previous NHS / medical experience.

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the county of Kent.

The Trust provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 760,000 people living in the south part of West Kent and the north part of East Sussex.

The Trust’s core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs. We work from two main clinical sites: Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 2011 and provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients – the first of its kind in the country.
