Summary

About The Role
To oversee and monitor all cleaning and associated duties carried out by all those that you are responsible for supervising. You will perform these duties in a professional manner and strive to exceed customer expectations, never overpromising or under-delivering.

You will be working on a variable shift pattern, 06:00 to 22:00, on a permanent full-time basis, 35 hours per week.

You will also:

  • Ensure that all cleaning tasks are carried out in accordance with NHS cleaning standards or equivalent.
  • To effectively manage and monitor the assigned unit with budgetary restraints whilst conforming to the client's and OCS specifications.
  • Daily liaison with departmental leads on all service-related issues to ensure the best possible service delivery to the trust.
  • Ensure that all of your team are working safely and in line with all health and safety procedures. You must ensure that all adverse events and near misses are reported in accordance with the company procedure
  • To oversee, use, and take responsibility for all consumables, equipment, and machinery used. Report any defects or defaults of equipment/machinery to your line manager.
  • Control costs to ensure services are delivered within the agreed budget
  • Supervise quality control procedures to ensure high standards are maintained
  • To develop a good knowledge of the unit you are working in, to enable efficient working practices.
  • To understand the unit's working pattern so you do not conflict with the unit's daily working pattern.
  • Leading a team of cleaners at a prestigious customer site.
  • Participate in any communication activities through formal and informal channels on safety matters to ensure that there is a free flow of ideas.
  • Ensure that you have received the necessary training so that you can competently carry out your duties and responsibilities. Acknowledge and accept a personal responsibility for safety.
  • You will be required to work closely with the Group Health and Safety team who are available to provide safety advice and support. Furthermore, you will be required to ensure that safety initiatives are implemented within your areas of control.
  • Responsible for ordering cleaning materials and equipment in line with agreed budgets.
  • Authorising any overtime worked in agreement with the Patient Experience Assistant Manager or Client.
  • Manage and oversee all periodic cleaning tasks in line with the contract specification.

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • BICS-trained and BICS Assessors are desirable but not essential.
  • NVQ Level 2 is desirable but not essential.
  • IT skills including Microsoft Office and Outlook required.
  • Supervisory experience in a Healthcare environment is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
