Summary

Senior Policy Officer

Morgan Hunt is currently working with a UK Regulatory Body in their search for a permanent Senior Policy Officer to lead and manage policy initiatives within their Standards team.

As a Senior Policy Officer, you will collaborate with colleagues to develop new sets of standards, review frameworks, and drive evidence-based decision-making. Your responsibilities will include conducting research, producing high-quality documents, engaging with stakeholders, and representing the organisation in various forums.

Job Title: Senior Policy Officer
Location: Docklands, London (Hybrid)
Salary: £31,000 - £36,000
Contract: Permanent, 35 Hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead policy initiatives from inception to completion, focusing on the development of new standards and frameworks.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to align policy objectives with strategic aims.
  • Conduct thorough desk-based research to inform evidence-based policy decisions.
  • Produce high-quality documents, including briefings, reports, and consultation responses.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather diverse perspectives and ensure comprehensive policy development.
  • Represent the organisation in meetings and forums, advocating for our policies and standards.
  • Support our partnership with the similar organisations in Northern Ireland to strengthen governance.

Essential Requirements:

  • Significant experience in policy work, preferably within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience in leading workshops, focus groups, and other internal/external activities.
  • Proven track record of building strong stakeholder relationships and working cross-organisationally.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence policy decisions.
  • Academic qualification with a research or analysis component is preferred.
  • Familiarity with risk management, health and safety, data protection, and diversity/equality policies.
  • Experience in regulatory, governmental, or representative body roles is desirable.
