Summary
They currently cater for over 140 students with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities, including those on the Autism Spectrum.
Pupils are taught in small form groups of generally no more than six pupils, with a high ratio of support from specialist teachers, learning assistants and pastoral mentors. Their pupils access a broad and balanced personalised curriculum that includes a strong emphasis on literacy skills, personal development, academic subjects and vocational courses.
Their youngest pupils are based in an adapted Victorian school building and newer modular build. This site is continuing to be developed over the next year - the Headteacher is excited about their new cooking room and soft play room.
KS2 & the new KS3 are based at the Mill Hill Site in a modern purpose-built facility with playgrounds equipped for physical exploration and interactive play.
Essential requirements:
- Experience supporting young people with mental health difficulties
- Previous TA, LSA or support work within a school, PRU, Alternative Provision or other child related experience.
- Open-minded, positive and friendly approach.
- A caring and professional manner.
- Must have legal right to work in the UK.
