Summary

Are you a Project Manager looking to further your career in the environmental sector?

Do you have a passion for the environment, an interest in engineering and would like to manage projects that deliver sustainable outcomes?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced project manager to lead the delivery of a range of environmental improvement, flood risk and infrastructure schemes.

You will join our new multidisciplinary team of engineers, ecologists and geomorphologists to deliver a range of civil and environmental engineering projects that promote nature-based solutions and climate resilience, including natural flood management.

You will lead the delivery of a range of civil and environmental engineering projects, using effective communication and relationship management skills to proactively manage the expectation of our clients and meet project objectives. Our work is primarily focused on environment restoration and enhancements but also extends to developing flood risk and infrastructure solutions. We work for a range of public, private and third sector clients, including the Environment Agency, local authorities, water companies, rivers and wildlife trusts.

The role will require you to lead and support clients in the management of project costs, programme and risks, alongside JBA project team and sub-contractor delivery. You will also mentor and manage staff, input to bid and tender preparation and play a key role in the growth and development of our team going forwards.

Duties will include:

• Managing projects, contracts, budgetary control, programmes, change and risks.
• Building relationships with client, colleagues and stakeholders
• Development and coordination of multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors.
• Management of NEC-form contracts.
• Management of project health, safety and environment requirements and promotion of carbon reduction, resilience and sustainability.
• Leading and supporting winning tender opportunities.
• Developing and mentoring junior members of staff.
• Professional development is encouraged and will be fully supported and, should you aspire to, opportunities for progression into team leadership or a managerial role.

Location:

The post will be based in either our Skipton, BD23 3FD or Saltaire, BD18 3LF office and will involve a combination of office, site and remote working. JBA supports agile working which provides for greater flexibility.

Who we are looking for:

Candidates will hold a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject, with an interest in environmental management and/or engineering. At or working towards a professional qualification with the Association of Project Management (APM) or engineering or environmental institution (ICE, CIWEM) is desirable.

We are seeking committed and enthusiastic individuals with an interest in sustainability who can demonstrate effective communication and team working skills. The right candidate will be organised and able to balance priorities, a pragmatic thinker and solution finder.

A full UK driving licence is required for this role.
