Summary

About The Role
As a Security Officer, you will play a key role in the team's delivery of security and have a firm focus on delivering high levels of customer service. We are looking for professional, diligent & customer focused individuals to join our team and help create a memorable experience for every visitor and exhibitor who comes to any of the NEC Group venues.

You will be working a variable shift pattern, on a casual basis (day, night and twilight shifts available), 06:00 to 00:00, this is a 0-hour contract. Note: All applicants must be available to attend an interview on Wednesday 24th April, between 16:00-19:00.

Main Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Acting as a first line support to employees and visitors to the site, providing a professional and friendly service
  • Investigate and report all allegations of loss, theft, criminal damage and other incidents
  • Fire, security and building systems monitoring
  • Managing crowd safety and queue management
  • Help ensure the safety of all residents, guests and staff at sites throughout your shift
  • Monitoring and maintaining the pedestrian flow at key areas inside and outside the arena
  • Be aware of and react to emergency situations as detailed in the Incident and Emergency Plans
  • Deterring anti-social behaviour, theft and criminal activity

To succeed in this role you will need the following:

  • SIA Door Supervisor Licence is essential.
  • Experience of working within the security industry/environment is an advantage.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • An enthusiastic, can-do attitude and event driven.
  • Significant experience in a public facing, customer service role with the ability to deal with challenging situations
  • The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Excellent time-keeping to ensure you arrive ready for pre-event briefings, training and shift handovers.
