Summary
The role of the Deputy Sister is to work proactively to support the Ward Sister in the delivery of high quality safe, patient focused evidence based care and a positive patient experience. Primarily this will be achieved through effective role modelling, instilling professional behaviors, adhering to the Trusts core care values alongside the deployment of practice development and educational methodologies. This is to reassure that all staff are developed and supported to be competent and confident within their roles. As Nurse in charge of a shift your main focus will be to ensure adequate staffing levels are met to meet the need of the service. You will work closely with the Consultant and ward multidisciplinary team leading the ward morning board round and accompanying the medical team on ward round. The ward operates the consultant of the week model which promotes continuity of care. Ensure the completion of safe care, co-ordinate the shift using effective leadership, communication and delegation skills to support in facilitating safe discharges. General office management support.
