Summary
Applicants are invited to apply for an ST1 Trust Doctor post in General Medicine across our Acute site Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital, Margate. This post will be fixed term for 12 months.
Within the General and Specialist Medicine Care group is Cardiology, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Health Care of Older People, Neurology, Renal, Rheumatology, and respiratory departments.
Applicants must have full GMC registration with a licence to practice and have completed the UK foundation programme or equivalent.
You will have the opportunity to manage a range of acute medical problems and to develop your clinical leadership within these areas. You will have the opportunity to develop clinical skills aligned with acute medicine and to practice them regularly. The department is supportive and keen to aid in the personal development in many fields including teaching, practical skills and quality improvement work as desired by the successful candidate.
The appointee will be responsible for communication and liaison with other medical and service departments within the hospital and with general practitioners and other agencies, such as district nursing and Social Services.

The appointee will be expected to cover for absence of colleagues (including on call cover) at short notice, e.g. sickness. It is expected that the post holder will play an active part in the training of junior medical staff. He/she will also be expected to supervise, educate and assist medical students.
