Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Secretary to join the team within the Accident and Emergency department at Ipswich Hospital.

You will provide an efficient and pro-active secretarial/admin support to the Consultants, Specialist Nurses and other team members.

You will be responsible for carrying out medical secretarial administrative duties, adhering to policies and procedures to provide a comprehensive high quality service, and to be able to deal efficiently and courteously with patient and staff enquiries.

To manage and support allocated Consultant and team in the Team Leader’s absence.

To ensure a high standard of secretarial and administrative service are consistently delivered by undertaking / delegating all required tasks and activities on a daily basis.

To utilise the required technology / hospital systems including Big Hand / PAS / Evolve / Lorenzo and any other new technology or system(s) that are introduced and support other team members to do so to deliver an efficient administrative and secretarial service.

To recommend and support the implementation of service improvements to own and team working practice to improve workflow.
