Summary
Winford Parish Council, Clerk and Responsible Finance Officer
Due to the forthcoming retirement of our Parish Clerk, Winford Parish Council are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual for the role of Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer (RFO). Whilst training will be available, the successful candidate will need good, up-to-date financial, IT, communication, administrative and literacy skills, together with the ability to work largely autonomously.
The Clerk is responsible for managing the council’s day-to-day business, providing independent and objective advice, implementing council decisions, preparing meeting agendas and minutes, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and overseeing budgets and assets. The council does not employ any other staff, but there would be some liaison with external contractors.
The Clerk works flexibly from home on a part-time basis (19 hours per week). A small amount of evening work is necessary, including attending the monthly meetings of the Parish Council, but the remainder of the time is largely self-managed. Some travel within the Parish is needed and your own transport will be essential. A fixed monthly allowance will be provided to cover working from home and travel expenses.
Salary will be subject to experience and qualifications but will be on the NALC pay scale range for Clerks, starting at £12.63 per hour.
Further information can be obtained from the current Parish Clerk, Paula Shelley, on 01761 453046. To apply please send a CV with a covering letter explaining how your knowledge and experience meets the requirements of the job, to Winford Parish Council at winfordpc@gmail.com
