Summary

• Supports the department to provide a safe and high quality homecare service in line with the Professional Standards for Homecare Services (Royal Pharmaceutical Society
• Work in partnership with the pharmacy Homecare team in the provision of a high quality and efficient service to the Trust
• Act as a role model and provide a consistently high quality of clerical support and administrative duties to the pharmacy homecare team.
• Support the agreed policies and procedures of the department and adhere to Trust policies and procedures concerning clerical and administrative duties
• Contribute to the development of the service
• To plan, prioritise and organise the homecare administrative workload within pharmacy.
• To provide administrative support in the monitoring and invoicing of external homecare services for the supply of medicines to patients within the home environment.
• To challenge and record any homecare invoice discrepancies and escalate where appropriate.
• Update the IVIG database in a timely manner
• To respond to enquiries from staff, patients and external suppliers and deal with any queries as required.
• To assist in the preparation, analysis and presentation of reports and information on financial drug data and usage within the agreed financial timescales

The homecare team is small and friendly but is developing rapidly. We require a motivated individual who can join this team and become part of the changes that are made to ensure excellent care for our patients, whilst in the home setting.


• Undertakes work activities consistent with legislation, professional guidance, policies and procedures.
• Complies with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Standards for Homecare Services.
• Complies with department policies and procedures to ensure that a safe and efficient service is maintained.
• Organises, prioritises and adjusts own workload in a manner that maintains and promotes quality and supports the achievement of department Key Performance Indicators and deadlines.
• Ensures that all use of Information Technology and sharing of patient information is appropriate and in line with Information Governance.
• Take minutes in service review meetings in the absence of the Senior Homecare Clerical and administration officer.
