Summary

Web Designer
Web Designers work to create the look and feel for our UK local client websites. They're responsible for coding web pages or entire sites, meeting with clients to review template designs and refine their final product, as well as running tests that preview how these changes will affect layout/design features on Anchor's client webpage before it's released.

Responsibilities:

- Design and create both static and dynamic websites visually appealing and user-friendly websites using WordPress, Shopify, Wix, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Collaborate with Anchor's clients and project managers to gather requirements and understand project goals
- Conduct user research to inform design decisions and improve user experience
- Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using tools such as Visio and Adobe Acrobat
- Implement responsive design principles to ensure websites are optimized for various devices
- Perform website maintenance tasks, including updating content, fixing bugs, and optimizing performance
- Collaborate with developers to integrate back-end functionality into websites
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in web design

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a web designer or similar role
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SCSS
- Strong knowledge of design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Familiarity with front-end frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap and content management systems (e.g., WordPress)
- Experience with user research methodologies and data analysis skills
- Knowledge of MySQL and SQL for database management
- Understanding of SEO principles, Digital marketing, SMM, and best practices
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
