Summary
Mechanical Assembler
- Salary: £30,420 per annum (equivalent to £15.00 per hour), with overtime paid at time and a half (£22.50 per hour).
- Permanent Position, Monday to Friday.
- Early finish on Fridays at mid-day.

We are in search of a proficient Mechanical Assembler / Fitter to join a thriving, established manufacturer of special purpose machinery located in the Cambourne area on the border of Cambridge and Bedfordshire.
As a Mechanical Assembler, your primary responsibility will be the mechanical production build of various complex equipment from scratch, adhering to drawings and pneumatic diagrams.
This engaging role entails working on various types of assembly and fitting to ensure high standards for equipment utilised in the food processing industry.
Prior experience in constructing special purpose machinery is required.
Essential experience includes:
- Mechanical motor fitting, stripping, and rebuilding
- Constructing air pneumatics
- Building and fitting bearing housings
- Familiarity with hydraulics
- Proficiency with various hand tools and mechanical equipment
- Substantial experience in building special purpose machinery
- Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings
Qualifications:
- City & Guilds qualifications in Engineering would be advantageous, or a solid engineering background.
Salary:
- £30,420 per annum, plus overtime paid at time and a half.
- Overtime is generally available and compensated at 1.5 times the hourly rate from Monday to Friday, including Saturday mornings.

Hours:
Full-time: 39 hours per week
- Monday: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
- Tuesday: 7:30 am - 4:30 pm
- Wednesday & Thursday: 7:30 am - 5:00 pm
- Friday: 7:30 am - 12:00 noon
Location:
- In the Sandy - St. Neots - Cambourne area.
- Own transport required due to location.
