The newly created role of Non-Natural Catastrophe Risk Specialist, you will be providing subject-matter expertise regarding non-natural catastrophe risk whilst ensuring consistent evaluation and approach across the Lloyds market. Delivering strategic projects to enhance the markets management of these risks, including deep dive analysis and oversight of the market’s use and ongoing development of Cyber and Liability risk Models.


Providing key support to the Head of Exposure Management & Aggregation (EMA) and Director of Portfolio Risk Management through delivering the following key accountabilities:

• Deliver technical research and manage defined strategic projects to support Lloyd’s understanding and management of NNC risk

• Maintain Lloyd’s high-level view of market-wide NNC exposure management capabilities and contribute to future development of maturity expectations

• Support Lloyd’s Exposure Management team in delivering consistent Principles Based Oversight (PBO) for NNC risk

• Lead event response activities for non-natural perils events, including Cyber and Liability events

• Maintain a risk-based framework for the review of syndicates’ View of Risk validation and model change submissions

• Support the Head of EMA in responding to ad hoc enquiries from regulators, rating agencies and other external and internal stakeholders

• Provide technical input to the enhancement of the data and risk analysis, reporting and evaluation tools used within the EMA team, and the team’s capability to disseminate exposure management information throughout Lloyd’s

• Proactively contribute to wider Lloyd’s projects and business objectives as and when required, with a special focus on exposure management and NNC risk subject matter expertise


To be successful as the Non-Natural Catastrophe Risk Specialist you will need to demonstrate the following skills:

• Ability to manage projects and deliver agreed outputs on schedule

• Ability to structure and distil information concisely and clearly

• Enhanced numeric/mathematical skills and excellent written English

• Ability to explain complex technical information effectively to a variety of stakeholders

• Ability to communicate confidently at a senior level and demonstrate technical credibility

• Very strong administrative, organisational and prioritisation skills

• Proven collaboration skills; ability to work across teams and organisations
