In this position, you will specialize in supporting students who are disengaged from mainstream education or those with additional needs: Social, Emotional, Mental Health/and Behavioural Needs.
✨ Experienced Unqualified English Teachers and Tutors will also be considered ✨
The successful applicants will have:
- QTS/QTLS or equivalent.
- Previous experience teaching pupils with Special Education Needs including Learning Difficulties.
- Knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4, and of writing lesson plans, developing resources, and assessing students' work.
- Significant knowledge and experience of working with pupils who have complex mental health needs and challenging behavior (ideal - not essential).
- The ability to effectively manage pupil behavior during lessons.
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, and parents/carers.
The role will include, but not be limited to:
- Teaching students on GCSE English and Functional Skills Entry Level, Level 1 and 2, and ESOL courses.
- Supporting existing staff in the development of the curriculum and new projects.
- Tracking student progress on a regular basis.
- To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated curriculum for students and to support a designated learning area as appropriate.
- To provide, monitor and evaluate an appropriate curriculum to meet pupils' needs.
- To write and review students' Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- To ensure that Special Educational & Mental Health Needs are recognized, assessed, and met.
