We are working with a range of SEN Schools across Merseyside that cater for pupils aged 3-19 with Autism,Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and complex needs. The Schools are looking for Health and Social Care students who are interested in working as an SEN Teaching Assistant.
This is flexible work so you can choose how many days you would like to work alongside your studies, this can help go towards your placement hours too.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in supportive and inclusive educational settings. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing personalised support to students with diverse special educational needs, including ASD, PMLD, SEMH, and complex needs.
- Assisting with classroom activities, including individual and group learning sessions, sensory activities, and personal care tasks.
- Building positive relationships with students, helping them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
- Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other staff members to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Participating in online Continuous Professional Development (CPD) sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge in special education.
