Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Operative to join our team. As a Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of our care home and equipment. This is a vital role in our organisation, as you will play a key part in keeping our operations running smoothly and safely.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspecting, cleaning, and repairing equipment
- Report issues with machinery and equipment
- Decorating worn areas in the home
- Maintain the outside areas, clearing entrances and watering outside pots and hanging baskets
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and address them proactively
- Follow maintenance schedules and ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner, daily, monthly and annually
- Collaborate with other team members to coordinate maintenance activities
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from various departments and residents
- Take samples to local GPs as required
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment
Qualifications:
- Strong maintenance knowledge and aptitude
- Ability to maintain and repair various types of equipment
- - Proficient in English, both written and verbal
- Excellent customer service skills when interacting with staff and residents
- Experience within a care home setting is preferred but not essential
- Full, clean driving licence is required
