Summary
SU has had a diagnosis of Dementia for the last 12 years. is very placid nature. She has 2 sons who she sees at weekends.
She is currently hoist transferred into a tilt in space shower chair daily to be fully assisted to shower in her ground floor wet room once or twice a week and to encourage to use the toilet each morning.
Attends Day Care in Tamworth on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and travels by community transport in a tilt in space wheelchair. She is collected around 09:30 and returns about 15;30/15:45 where she is ready to return to bed as she is tired by this time. She is repositioned using slide sheets within her profile bed. Margaret requires time to reposition as she cannot voluntarily move her body herself and can become anxious and more rigid if she is rushed. She required feeding all foods and fluids. She is not on a special diet. She will take medications either soluble or liquid form.
She is unable to verbally communicate any of her needs and wishes so needs everything anticipating for her. Husband is extremely devoted to her and will be on hand at all times.
