Specialist Assessment, Intervention and Family Time Team - Transforming Lives for Children and Young people.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our SAIFT team as a Pre-Birth Intervention Worker.

Our Specialist Assessment, Intervention and Family Time Team consists of Social Workers and Family Time and Intervention Workers. Our Social Workers undertake complex parenting assessments for children and young people subject to care proceedings, while our Family Time and Intervention Workers provide assessed supervised and facilitated family time opportunities for children and young people when they are unable to live at home, due to safeguarding concerns.

As a Pre-Birth Intervention worker, you will support adults and parents with unborn children through developing a tailored support package that addresses safeguarding concerns identified by an allocated Social Worker. You will provide guidance, advice regarding parenting strategies and support parents to develop positive networks of support, so that their capacity to meet their child's needs following their birth is maximised.

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic individual with extensive knowledge of child development, and the impact of parenting issues, with excellent communication skills who has extensive previous experience of direct work with children, young people, and families. Experience in working as part of a multi-agency team alongside a proven ability to undertake complex assessment work will be essential.
