If so, join us as a Contract Engineering Lead and you’ll join one of the most exciting and ambitious projects within EDF, as we continue to lead the rebirth of nuclear in the UK.
The Opportunity... At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes. EPR-E established in 2023, is responsible for delivering the design for a number of NI buildings, systems and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project through an integrated team, support to HPC construction and commissioning activities, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. Therefore, a Technical Directorate is being created, responsible for the engineering disciplines and technical expertise required to deliver the different engineering projects through integrated teams in EPR-E. As the Contract Engineering Lead, you will provide a contractual and technical oversight of contracts, including the management and coordination of Technical Engineering Leads for each contract and managing the resolution of open-points related to Design, Manufacturing and Qualification. You will be also responsible for keeping the contract at the configuration compliant with the project progress.

What you’ll be doing…
- Leading contract technical and project meetings.
- Technical surveillance and resolution of issues/queries.
- Reviewing and approving contractor deliverables and design where necessary.
- Controlling and managing the evolution of the contract and design changes.
- Reviewing and approving contract amendments and exemptions (CTSs, ERs).
- Managing contract TLs and associated delivery scope, including task prioritisation.
- Resourcing and budget planning, ensuring the requirements of the contract are met to time, cost, schedule, and quality.
- Liaising with RD and client teams to ensure integration of equipment with interfacing functions/systems.
- Liaising with RD and client management teams to communicate progress, risks, issues and planning to support contract delivery.
- Reporting of KPIs to the ITB Equipment Manager and Sequence 5.
- Ensuring qualification activities are progressing accordingly to the contract progress and site needs.
- Helping to upskill other members of the team, including other less experienced CELs.Who you are… Your background may include some of the following:

- Understanding of Equipment interfaces (safety case, systems engineering, CDM).
- Contract management and documentary surveillance.
- Experience using change-management, commercial and deliverable management systems (UKDC, UKICM, OPM, CEMAR, Teamcenter) is advantageous.
- IT literate.
- Master’s degree or equivalent in an Engineering or Scientific Discipline.
- Understanding of the EPR or general PWR design.
- Knowledge and experienced in Nuclear Mechanical Equipment Design, Manufacture and Operations.
