Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Immunohistochemistry laboratory in the Histopathology Department in the role of a Section Leader. You will have extensive experience within both Immunohistochemistry and Histopathology and have excellent organizational skills plus experience in maintenance of a high throughput service. As a strong team player, you will also possess excellent communication skills and must be able to take responsibility for day-to-day planning and prioritization of workload. A strong commitment to personal and professional development and teamwork are all essential for this post. • To practice as a Section Leader in advanced staining area, including immunohistochemistry and special stains undertaking a wide variety of automated and non-automated, complex analytical procedures requiring a high level of manual dexterity and knowledge, prioritising and organising the diagnostic workload to ensure continuity and efficiency of the service, and demonstrating expertise in multiple histological techniques.
• Provide an effective service to Histopathology, and the Haemato-oncology service (HODS)
• This post involves staff supervision and management of a team within the Histopathology Department.
• Ensure that all aspects of ISO 15189, and external governing bodies are achieved and maintained, in accordance with both local and national guidelines.
• Participate in technical, quality and training and education as required by the department within scope of practice
