Summary
The role of the CAMHS Practitioner is to provide specialist assessment, formulation and intervention to children and their families, and offer consultation and liaison to the wider network which includes, but is not limited to: Providing specialist assessments of children referred to the service in collaboration with family members and others involved in the childrens care Formulating and implementing plans therapeutic support to promote emotional and physical health Being responsible for undertaking therapeutic session for children and their carers, families and groups, drawing upon different explanatory models and maintaining a number of provisional hypotheses Exercising autonomous professional responsibility for assessment, treatment options and discharge planning, taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual, family or group Providing specialist advice guidance and consultation to other professionals involved in the patients care
