Summary
Nursery Housekeeper
Responsibilities: To help clean the premises operated by Moon River Nursery and Preschool ensuring standards of cleanliness and hygiene are to a high standard and taking responsibility for the laundry. To help in the kitchen when the kitchen assistant is off.
Main duties:
• To help to clean all areas of the Nursery including toilets, kitchen, units and communal areas in accordance with specific cleaning schedules formulated for the setting by the Nursery Owner/Manager. To check and put away deliveries as they arrive.
• Making sure the laundry is done regularly to ensure enough clean laundry for each day.
• To keep the room stocked up with supplies.
• To ensure sufficient cleaning materials and supplies are kept in stock by informing the management team when supplies are running low.
• To remove all rubbish and put in approved outside bins ready for collection.
• To adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• To work in compliance with COSHH Regulations, Health and Safety legislation and within the guidelines of Ofsted and the Welfare Standards within the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.
• Remaining aware and observant of health and safety issues in the nursery and where possible reducing the risk of accidents through preventative actions.
• Being aware of and complying with the risk assessment documentation of the nursery relevant to the role.
• Maintaining the safety of yourself and others by wearing any protective clothing / gloves as detailed on COSHH safety data sheets and COSHH / risk assessments for the nursery and ensuring all products are stored away after use.
• Provide feedback to the Owner/Manager where maintenance needs are noticed and required in order to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
• To secure the building if working after the nursery day has finished.
• To be aware of own safety at all times if lone working.
• To work as part of a team and contribute positively to that staff team.
• Ensure that no complaints are received from parents or staff about dirt or lack of hygiene. In the event of a complaint swift action is taken to ensure there is no repeat
• To ensure that all information pertaining to Moon River, its operation, children, staff and parents remains confidential.
• To go about your duties with a positive and enthusiastic attitude - to be confident, hardworking and conscientious, and at all times promote good practice.
• To promote at all time’s good relations between staff members, parents and children, and at all times promote the good name and ethos of Moon River.
• To undertake any other reasonable responsibilities or duties as appropriate, at the request of the Nursery Owner/Manager
