Summary

Health Education England has partnered with Trusts in North Central London to develop an innovative and exciting position designed for doctors who have completed Core Medical Training (CMT). This post is designed as a development opportunity prior to taking up a higher specialty physician training scheme. The Fellowship will be for a period of 12 months from September 2024.

The Fellow will work to provide cover for registrar colleagues to attend immersion periods in the endoscopy department at UCLH. This will mean the successful candidate will provide cover and therefore gain experience in a variety of different subspecialty disciplines such as IBD, pancreatobiliary, upper GI, nutrition and functional gut disease.

We will also aim to provide training in endoscopy who will in turn undergo immersive training. Any additional time will be spent on departmental projects that emphasise quality improvement and quality assurance under the auspices of the Divisional Lead. It is anticipated that these projects will provide invaluable experience for the postholder in the importance and delivery of Quality Improvement/assurance.

Exact timetables will be confirmed upon appointment, and will necessarily be flexible to provide immersion cover.

Ideally the fellows should have full MRCP (subject to exam cancellation due to COVID) and have a Core Medical Training outcome 6 or 10.1.
