The Opportunity:

The University of Edinburgh Hospitality and Events Collection is the commercial arm of the world-leading University of Edinburgh, which includes the conference and events team. We provide a professional operation across a broad portfolio of conferences, meetings and events, from major international conferences to day meetings and prestigious dining events (circa 2,000 events annually), held at venues across the University’s portfolio. Additionally, the team operates a large Outside Catering and Delivered Hospitality service to university buildings and to private and corporate locations across the city.

The Catering and Events Supervisor has a vital leadership role within the wider catering team, with significant responsibility to deliver successful events and ensure our long-term success and sustainability. The post holder will hold a pivotal role in developing the highest possible levels of service and customer engagement.

Your skills and attributes for success:

Previous experience of supervising people and teams to deliver successful events in a hospitality, catering or events environment.
A strong team player who can work closely with supervisors and team members to exceed customer expectations.
Outstanding organisation skills and the ability to prioritise your time and help keep others on track.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to communicate with a wide range of customers.
Ability to effectively communicate and coach others to meet our standard operating procedures, operational health and safety requirements and core ACE values
Self-motivation and passion for developing your career.
All candidates require a Full Driving Licence as this role requires the post holder to drive University of Edinburgh vehicles.
