Summary


The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 Staff Nurse in Operating Theatres. This is an extremely busy, expanding and exciting area to work which offers cutting-edge healthcare. The Theatre Department provides a comprehensive neurosurgical service covering a full range of neurosurgical patients which includes all cranial, simple and complex spine conditions. The service also specializes in surgery for Epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease and many other movement disorders. There is an excellent team of radiologists and vascular neurologists performing interventional procedures. The theatre department is comprised of 9 theatres, including Interventional Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Angio suite. The recovery area has 9 bed capacity.

Operating Theatre is open from 0730-2000 Monday – Friday and provides On-Call service outside of these hours. The successful candidate is expected to work on an early, late, long day and an on-call shifts.

The successful candidates must have excellent communication skills and an ability to put their patients at the centre of care demonstrating the UCLH Trust values of safety, kindness, teamworking and the continuous desire to improve. A willingness to learn is essential and will be supported all throughout to see you excel in your field.
