Job Brief

We are looking for an Assistant Maintenance Engineer to shadow a manager and learn upkeep tasks such as repairs and cleaning. You will learn how to apply basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensure facilities are tidy, functional, and kept running. Being reliable and on time with a keen willingness to learn is the first step to getting this job. The ideal candidate would be someone who does not mind getting dirty and wants to expand their knowledge on how to keep a working environment operating in a clean and safe manner. Not all problems are black and white, and if you think you have the skill to solve a puzzle, this could be the job for you.

Responsibilities You Will Learn
• Perform cleaning activities on all machinery to keep the factory running in a smooth and safe environment.
• Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, changing light bulbs, etc.
• Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues.
• Install appliances and equipment.
• Do general yard upkeep by mowing, strimming, weeding, etc.
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g., electrical tools, machinery, ventilation, dust extraction, etc.).
• Check the functionality of safety systems (e.g., fire alarm, fire extinguishers, etc.).
• Learn how to collaborate with workers and other professionals in identifying and resolving issues.
• Work alongside a maintenance manager to resolve issues.
Requirements and Skills
• Be reliable, flexible, and willing to learn, adapt, and fit into the way the factory needs to run.
• Have good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Possess basic IT skills to carry out all required paperwork.
• Want to learn about electrical systems, mechanical systems, using hand and electrical tools, understanding technical manuals and drawings, welding, etc.
• Maintain a reasonable state of physical health and dexterity.

Salary / Hourly Rate

National Minimum Wage for your age.

Normal Working Hours

Mon - Friday - 8.30 - 5pm
