Perhaps our most unique London hostel, YHA London Lee Valley is a hostel split over six wooden lodge-style buildings. This hostel is situated in Lee Valley Regional Park, where you can explore open green spaces and take part in watersports.
Just a 20-minute train journey from central London, this hostel is within easy reach of the capital - perfect for sightseeing and city excursions to complement all of your activities.

What will you be doing as a Catering Team Member?
Our Catering Team Members take on a variety of customer-facing responsibilities throughout the hostel, ensuring a fantastic experience for all guests and visitors at YHA.
While this role primarily focuses on the catering aspects of our hostel, you may also be called upon to assist in other hostel departments. Here are some of the areas you might contribute to:
Ensuring strict adherence to food hygiene standards in food storage, preparation, and delivery.
Maintaining a strong commitment to health and safety regulations, ensuring timely and accurate completion of kitchen checks.
Taking pride in the preparation, presentation, and service of high-quality food.
Diligently recording food wastage in accordance with your hostel's procedures, with a focus on minimizing waste to maximize profit.
Serving food and drinks with warmth and hospitality, while engaging in authentic, inclusive conversations. Suggesting enjoying dinner with us or offering a beverage or dessert as you assist with table service, ensuring a diverse and welcoming experience for all guests.
What Skills and Experience are Valued in a Catering Team Member?
While prior experience in a customer-facing role is advantageous, it's not a strict requirement for our Catering Team Members. Experience** in hospitality or customer service is desirable but not essential.
Strong communication skills are an asset, and punctuality is of the essence.
**We place great value on real-life experience, just as much as skills and knowledge. We provide a comprehensive induction, continuous training, and further development opportunities. While not mandatory, having experience in volunteering or collaborating with others is advantageous.
