Summary

Academic appointments, in partnership with an alternative provisions unit in Leeds are looking for a talented, creative, and enthusiastic individuals.

This role is to start in ASAP on a full time ongoing basis with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidates.

As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be given an opportunity to make a positive impact on some of the most at-risk students in the area and to provide 1:1 support for a child to progress to the next stages of their education. Who are we looking for? A successful candidate would:

Have experience in an educational setting either in mainstream schools or any other alternative provision.
A history of working with students with challenging behaviour.
A confident, caring, and assertive personality
What to expect?

Working in this setting requires patience, confidence, and a caring attitude as the student has complex social, emotional, and mental health issues which need to be managed.
The student has difficulties in displaying these emotions in a productive way so the use of Team Teach positive behaviour management strategies may be needed.
The student will require positive re enforcement from you when they display good behaviours.

What we need from you:

2x references.
A valid Enhanced DBS Certificate or be willing to obtain one (we can assist with this part).
Team teach Positive behaviour management certificate preferred but not essential.
