Summary

Customer Service Host

Are you great with customers, but looking for something a little bit different? We’re looking for people with great customer service skills to join our ticketing and sales team.

Whether it’s a special birthday, or a night out with friends, every visit is important. We work hard to make sure each customer leaves with those unique memories you can only get from a live show…and that they want to return again and again!

As a Customer Service Host you'll help us achieve this, by offering customer support from our Box Office for up to 90 minutes before each show begins. You'll answer queries about the production, the theatre, and the local vicinity, resolve ticket queries and make sales of the additional products and services that enhance our audiences' visit to the theatre - from ATG+ Card memberships and gift vouchers to food & beverage packages. Once the show is up and running you'll join the Front of House team for the remainder of your shift.

Full of variety, this role is both fun and challenging. You’ll take responsibility for a range of tasks as part of a friendly, passionate and ambitious team, working in our unique theatre with an ever-changing programme of events.

Further information on the role and the skills you’ll need can be found in our full job description. Previous experience in theatre is not required and we actively encourage applications from people from the widest range of backgrounds, including those currently under-represented in this industry. You do need to be aged 18+ for this position.

The Opera House is an unmissable feature of Manchester’s central Quay Street in the elegant Spinningfields quarter, the city’s thriving business district where luxury fashion brands, restaurants and bars nestle in amongst an array of cultural and entertainment venues. The Grade II listed Opera House, designed in the Classical style with a 15-bay façade, columns and sculptured stone relief, has a large capacity but an intimate auditorium making it perfect not only for smaller musicals but also dance, drama, comedy and pantomime. The Opera House has hosted a variety of world premieres before they transfer to the west end – shows include: Ghost, Back To The Future, & Juliet, Mrs Doubtfire and many more. The Manchester Palace is one of the most successful theatres in the country. A Grade II listed building, originally built as the “Palace of Varieties”, the theatre was extensively remodeled in the early 1900s by the legendary Frank Matcham. In the 1970s, the theatre underwent a major refurbishment, restoring the auditorium and front of house facilities to their Edwardian splendour and improving backstage facilities. With its large, well-equipped stage and nearly two thousand seats, the theatre is a must-visit venue for major West End shows such as Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia, Les Misérables, The Lion King, Mary Poppins, Wicked and most recently Hamilton.
