Driver Development Coach

Hours per week: 48 hours

Salary: £36000 to £43000 (Salary dependent on experience)

Through adopting a continuous improvement outlook and using proven driving best practice techniques, you will work with the drivers to improve standards, increase MPG performance and decrease blameworthy accidents in line with Alliance Healthcare policies and standard operating procedures. You will carry out driver assessments for all new starters, agency drivers, any drivers that have been involved in an road traffic incident in line with a plan and where applicable, on a 'How's my Driving' event; assessing driving standards, improving safety, fuel efficiency, reducing incident frequency and to improve overall standards.

To work with the site Transport Management Team to identify, review and act on telematics data relating to RTI and driver behaviour in conjunction and act as a technical expert relating to telematics and incident investigations. Responsible for establishing a programme of driver training that covers SAFED, DCPC, induction and procedural training including agency training standards and controls.

Responsible for managing and maintaining the drivers licence record checks in line with Company and Legal policy. Conduct Induction Training and Vehicle Familiarisation to ensure all drivers are correctly trained for the vehicles and expectations of Alliance Healthcare transport policies.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

Experience of Transport Industry.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety Requirements
Excellent knowledge of Road Traffic Laws.
Intermediate Numeric and Literacy and PC skills
Knowledge of Working Time Directive legislation.
Excellent Knowledge of local and regional areas and road networks.
Essential Requirements:

A full valid UK driving license must be held with Cat C+E with no more than 3 Live points.
Experienced UK Driving Licence Holder.
SAFED (Safe and Fuel Efficient Driving) Certification holder.
Previous experience of conducting Driving Standard Assessments
