We are recruiting a Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of our premises in Eastbourne, assets, staff, customers, and visitors.

The Security Guard will be responsible for monitoring the safety of our NCS Young People (ages 15- 17) who are camping in the grounds of our language centre. You will be responsible for ensuring young people do not leave the grounds unless supervised and permitted and remain in their accommodation after lights out. You will patrol the premises, set up security controls, monitor property access, investigate suspicious behaviour, and enforce company policies.
To be successful as a Security Guard you should be highly observant and able to objectively assess the severity of a situation. An outstanding Security Officer should be able to remain calm and decisive in any situation.

Responsibilities
Inspecting and patrolling premises regularly.
Monitoring surveillance cameras and reporting suspicious behaviour.
Monitoring public access and ensuring the security of all personnel and visitors.
Responding to alarms and analysing security footage.
Investigating suspicious behaviour, incidents, and security breaches.
Apprehending trespassers and perpetrators.
Adhering to company policies and legal regulations.
Maintaining an activity log and preparing surveillance reports.
Ensuring our NCS young people remain within the ECE grounds and providing security/supervision during the night shift.
Liaising with NCS management over any concerns.
Education /Qualification
SIA Qualification.
Skills and Experience
Outstanding surveillance and observation skills.
Ability to exercise good judgement.
Excellent communication skills.
Working knowledge of public safety, security operations, and procedures.
Knowledge of laws and regulations.
Strong reporting skills.
Safeguarding and prevent trained.
Additional Information
Salary: Meets national minimum wage per hour + holiday pay allowance
Location: Eastbourne
Contract: Temporary
Hours: Operating 2 shifts, from 3 pm - 10 pm and 10 pm – 4 pm. Monday – Thursday during July and August only.
