We have a fantastic opportunity here at Purovets for an experienced Exotic Veterinary Surgeon at an award winning, RCVS accredited practice in the picturesque village of Thurlby in Bourne. Located in Lincolnshire on the border near Cambridgeshire and Rutland, there is easy access to London, the Midlands, and the north via a nearby main trainline. There are also 2 airports (East Midlands and Stansted) within 90 minutes travel. This lovely rural location is a short distance from the historic market town of Stamford and Rutland Water.
Our client is a fully equipped RCVS accredited practice with spacious premises. They are well facilitated offering the very best in laser therapy, dentistry, medical diagnosis, surgery and much more. They have separate cat and dog wards and a separate exotic hospital. They also offer ophthalmic surgery in house and they have a visiting orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeon.
You will be joining a well experienced and supportive team of veterinary practitioners including 8 Surgeons (with certificate holders in ECC and Ophthalmology), 7 RVN's, 6 SVN's, 4 VCA's, 7 support staff and 2 recent graduates. There is a wealth of experience amongst the team with a lot of support in place to help with all stages of your career.
The practice has been awarded silver status by the RWAF and are an ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic. They have also been accredited as providing outstanding client and consultation service as well as outstanding in-patient and diagnostic service by the RCVS.
Our client is keen to encourage further qualifications and certificates for those who want to. Overall the successful candidate needs to be enthusiastic, with a positive team playing approach and have a genuine interest in animal welfare.
The Rota:
• Full time role - 4 day week
• Monday - Saturday shift pattern
• 1 night per week on call for hospitalised inpatients
• Overnight emergencies, Saturday night, Sundays and Bank Holidays are covered by an external company
