Part-Time Veterinary Surgeon - Essex

Purovets are searching for a Veterinary Surgeon who is confident with both consultations and routine surgery to join a fantastic small animal practice in Essex on a part-time basis. They carry out surgery every weekday morning and consultations all day, and the role can be tailored to a surgery or consulting bias depending on the individual preference of the candidate.
The ideal candidate would be a positive person who works well as part of a small team. This could be someone who is happy in general practice or someone with aspirations of further education. They are a kind and caring team who pride themselves on excellent patient care, working very well as a team and supporting each other where needed. They have everything they need to be an exceptional first opinion practice and will always consider investment in new equipment and further education to support future development of our staff and business.
They currently have 2 Veterinary Surgeons and are recruiting for a third. One of their Vets is recently qualified and the other is experienced and soon to complete their certificate in ophthalmology.
They also have 4 experienced qualified Registered Veterinary Nurses and 3 Receptionists.
There are local certificate holders in orthopaedics, cardiology and medicine who visit for individual patients when required, which enables them to keep a lot of the more complex cases in-house.
They can offer flexible working patterns that flex with you and your lifestyle. Whether you are looking to flex your rota hours to balance the school holidays, fix to navigate the school runs or just looking to strike that balance between home and work life, they can offer flexibility that actually works for you. The ideal candidate will work two full days (8:30am - 6:30pm) of their choice, with the option of an additional part day if they wish. There will also be 1 in 3 Saturday mornings on a rota from 8:30am - 12:30pm. There are no out of hours or bank holiday shifts.
Ideally located, the practice is only a 50 min train ride from central London and a 50 minute drive from Stansted airport. Based in the North Essex/Suffolk border they are surrounded by beautiful countryside and awesome beaches with plenty of opportunity to travel further afield if day trips into London and weekend breaks in Europe are on the wish list. It is also very close to Colchester town centre and just a short drive to Mersea Island.
Role:
- Salary up to £70,000 DOE pro rata
- Up to £3,000 relocation allowance
- 2 days a week, 8:30am - 6:30pm
- Optional extra part day
- 1 in 3 Saturday mornings, 8:30am - 12:30pm
- No OOHs
