Summary

Senior Chef

We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic and skilled senior chef to lead The Fed’s kitchen team at Heathlands Village care home.

This is a pivotal role which involves overseeing all kitchen operations, working to financial targets, ensuring the maintenance of the highest standards of food quality and food hygiene, and that our menus reflect the changing seasons and cultural needs of our residents and other customers.

The successful candidate needs:

• To have a positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent nutritious meals.
• To be able to work with others and maintain a caring work environment.
• To be able to provide a quality service that prioritises the various dietary needs of our customers.
• To have a good knowledge of nutritional needs of older people.
• To have at least three years’ experience in cooking in a commercial kitchen/care setting.
• To have a good knowledge of all relevant legislation, regulations and guidance relating to the delivery of a safe food and catering service.
• To have good written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• To be able to prioritise and make decisions relating to time-management and delivery of meals.
• To have basic computer skills.

HOURS: 39 hours per week

SHIFTS: Any 5 days from 7. (includes Bank hols, occasional late shifts & weekends) shift pattern is 7.30am - 16.00pm, late shift 10.30am -19.30pm
