Summary

We are looking to grow our existing Security team at this prestigious site in Cheltenham, and have a vacancy for a Security Officer, working 42hrs per week.

As a Security Officer on this contract, you will be more than a Security Guard. You will be a part of the G4S Facilities Management team providing a full and comprehensive delivery of services to our high-profile client. With a keen eye and a brilliant way with people, you could look forward to an interesting role where no two days are the same with exciting career opportunities.

These roles require individuals to be able to undertake a rotating shift pattern, working 2 days, 2 nights 4 off, 12 hour shifts, 06:00 - 18:00, 18:00 - 06:00 (average of 42 hours per week).

Responsibilities
Patrol the interior and exterior of buildings and perimeter.
Control access to site and designated buildings for authorised personnel.
To detect and if possible prevent unauthorised entry to sites/buildings.
To screen all visitors to the site.
To search contractor vehicles before entry to site.
To carry out random access/exit searches of members of staff and staff vehicles.
To where necessary deal with suspect postal packages and suspicious objects in accordance with agreed procedures.
To monitor the effectiveness of the end of day security measures in workspaces.
To monitor CCTV, alarms and access control systems as required.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Essential
Good Communication Skills.
A basic understanding of IT.
A customer focused approach.
A current SIA Licence is desirable, however necessary training can be provided.
