Summary

Works Inspector
Founded in 1970, Collis Engineering Ltd is a specialist structural and mechanical engineering manufacturer and is an industry leader in the design and supply of railway signaling structures, location platforms and signaling points components. In addition to our strong presence in the railway sector, we have diversified our portfolio into the nuclear and telecommunications industries.

Role
We are seeking a dedicated Works Inspector to join our Assurance team. The Works Inspector will play a crucial role in ensuring that our manufacturing processes adhere to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will operate within our Quality Assurance system and will be authorised to halt the production or delivery of products that do not meet our client's requirements or work instructions.

As part of this role you will:
• Conduct random patrols of all manufacturing areas to inspect work in progress.
• Perform first-off and final inspections of products manufactured in our workshops.
• Assist in the management of the calibration of measuring equipment.
• Engage in the management and verification of company jigs and templates.
• Participate in pro-active activities to promote and assist continual improvement in quality.
• Carry out goods inward inspections when necessary, ensuring compliance with documented procedures in the company QHSE Manual.

Experience/Key Attributes
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proactive attitude towards problem-solving and process improvement.
• Knowledge of quality assurance principles and practices.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds craft or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not essential.

Desirable Qualifications
• CSWIP 3.0 Weld Inspection certification.
• PCN Level 2 in Magnetic Particle Inspection.
• Full training provided for those without prior certification.

Hours
Full -Time, Permanent.
Mon to Thurs: 7.30am to 16.00pm
Fri: 7.00am to 14.00pm

Salary
£14.75 per Hour
